A Talk About Success

It is important to understand the real meaning of success. Success is not about having a separate space in the office nor having expensive cars but the feeling of accomplishment and happiness. A good example is how some independent artists never sign a brand deal because they are contemptuous of their work. In its truest sense it can be said that “Just like beauty, success lies in the eyes of the beholder”.

When you set out on a journey to become what you aspire, there will be challenges and hurdles. Listing below a few of them to turn these challenges into opportunities.

It’s Never Enough: The closer you reach your goals, the higher you’ll start setting them. Success is a never-ending journey. It’s a constant fight towards perfection. We tend to aspire for things which cannot be acquired easily. Therefore, you’ll never be completely satisfied with what you have.If you fuel the urge of wanting something in a more efficient and effective way, you’ll up your productivity significantly. Every time you feel unsatisfied, you just need to tell yourself that you may not be there yet, but you are one step closer to it than you were a day before.

Success Can Be Stressful:When you work towards achieving your goals, you start choosing your friends and acquaintances more carefully. You start thinning the herd. There will be people who will portray their doubts in your ability and decision making at every turn which will lead you to questioning yourself and possibly make you feel under-confident. There 2 ways to deal with it – accept and give up OR work harder and show your worth. After all, stress is all about how you perceive it.

Not having ‘me-time’:In some cases, over ambitious people drive themselves over the edge. They succumb to unhealthy sleeping and dietary habits which causes adverse effect on their health. It’s easy to neglect your mental and emotional health when you solely focus on your goals. In order to combat this, you need to follow a healthy routine of sleeping at least 7-8 hours a day, staying hydrated, talk with like-minded people, spend quality time with your loved ones and exercise. It is essential to keep health first as it is your biggest wealth.

Failure: You never truly fail unless you give up. When setting out to achieve something, you’ll experience plenty of obstacles. The fear of failure will always trigger on your mind. Every successful person feels it during their journey of achievement. You need to learn to take those obstacles positively. They are a reminder of your shortcomings which needs to be fixed in order to achieve the desired outcome. In a way the more “failures” you face, the wiser you become.

“Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavor.”― Truman Capote
